We look at the recruitment process from both applicant and recruiter points of view. We use artificial intelligence to streamline the interviewing process and give a fair chance to all candidates.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website and mobile app, for example, when you contact us about our recruitment solutions, register to attend our events or webinars, download our whitepapers, and if you subscribe to join our mailing list via our website, mobile app, or a third party like LinkedIn.

The personal information that we may collect about you through the Website broadly falls into the following categories:

    If you are a job candidate (“Candidate”) or employee (“Employee”) using our Services on behalf of one of our customers who are engaging us to provide the Services to them (the “Potential Employers”), we are collecting and processing your personal information on behalf of the Potential Employers. In such cases, we are acting as a data processor and are collecting and processing your personal information on their behalf and in accordance with their instructions.

    The types of information typically collected are described in detail in this section below. What we do not collect, and you should not be asked by Potential Employers to provide to VireUp, are things like protected health information, financial information, date of birth, social security or other government-issued identification number, and other sensitive personal information.

    It is primarily the Potential Employer who must ensure that your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with data protection laws. Therefore, if you have questions or concerns about the handling of your personal data, you should contact the relevant Potential Employer directly or refer to their separate privacy policies.

    If you are a job seeker (“Job Seeker”) using our services to improve your interview skills, we are collecting and processing your personal information to help improve your interview skills. In that case we are acting as data controller and are collecting and processing your personal information.     The following outlines the types of personal information that we will typically collect through the Services on behalf of our customers:

  • In using the Services, Candidates and Employees may be required to provide certain personal information about themselves – for example, their name, contact details, username and password (username and password is for Employees only, as Candidates do not create accounts within the VireUp platform), and other information as requested by the Employer. Candidates may complete a job interview through the Services which can include information such as work history, skills, experience, abilities, work style and other responses to questions, as well as submissions through a variety of types of media including video/audio interviews, coding challenges, training exercises, resumes, cover letters and the like.
  • Information that we collect automatically
  • When you use the Services, we may collect certain information automatically from your device. In some countries, including countries in the European Economic Area, this information may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws. Specifically, this information may include IP addresses, other unique device IDs or addresses, web browser and/or device type, the pages you view on the Services and the dates and times you visit, access or use the Service.
  • Information that we obtain from third party sources
  • From time to time, we may receive personal information about you from third party sources, but only where we have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us.

    How is your information used?

  • contact you following a registration to a VireUp event or webinar;
  • to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
  • analyse and interpret your interview data to give you feedback to improve your interview skills

  • send you communications that may be of interest to you. These may include information about relevant thought leadership campaigns and blogs, invitations to relevant events or webinars, promotions of our recruitment solutions.
  • If you have opted to receive more communications from VireUp via LinkedIn we will send you relevant communications that may be of interest to you.
  • To operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features and services found on the Website and Services, to personalize the Website and Services for your preferences and interests.
  • To understand and analyze the usage trends, interests, and preferences of our users, to improve the way the Website and Services works and looks, and to create new features and functionality.

    Security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information

    All of the systems we use at VireUp are GDPR compliant.

    Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure.     Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.     Transferring your information outside of Europe

    For Job Seekers, Candidates and Clients

    We will not export your personal data from the EEA without your approval other than to data processors under our instructions, or, if you are being interviewed and are located in the EEA with an interviewer located outside the EEA, to the interviewer.

    If you require the use of any candidate support services, then this may require the transfer of your personal data to support service providers based outside the EEA. By making use of the services provided to you under this Agreement, you consent to such transfers of your personal data.

    How we use personal information

    We use personal information held about you:

  • to deliver the services through the site, which includes providing video and data to relevant other users of the services (for example, interview videos are shown to the interviewer)
  • to administer your user account
  • to process any request for advice or information
  • to comply with our legal obligations
